Engineering Supervisor
Engineering Supervisor needed to lead hotel maintenance — mentor a skilled team, coordinate preventive work, and ensure safe, efficient operation of all building systems.
The Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance and engineering operations of the property, ensuring that all facilities, equipment, and building systems are maintained in excellent working condition. The role supervises engineering staff, coordinates preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and ensures compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards to support a safe and comfortable environment for guests and employees.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise the daily activities of the Engineering team and ensure efficient completion of maintenance tasks.
Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all hotel facilities, equipment, and systems.
Monitor the operation and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire life safety, and building management systems.
Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and plant equipment.
Ensure timely response to maintenance requests and operational issues.
Assign work orders, monitor progress, and verify the quality of completed work.
Maintain maintenance records, logs, reports, and documentation.
Assist in troubleshooting equipment failures and implementing corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and fire safety regulations.
Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives.
Coordinate with external contractors and service providers when required.
Monitor inventory levels of engineering supplies, tools, and spare parts.
Train, mentor, and develop engineering team members to improve performance and technical skills.
Assist management in planning maintenance schedules, projects, and departmental objectives.
Ensure engineering operations support the highest standards of guest comfort and operational efficiency.
Candidate Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field.
Minimum 3–5 years of engineering or maintenance experience within a hotel, hospitality, commercial, or facilities management environment.
Previous supervisory experience in an engineering or maintenance department is required.
Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire alarm, and building systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and facility management principles.
Familiarity with health, safety, environmental, and fire safety regulations.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities when working with internal departments and external contractors.
Proficiency in maintenance management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies and operational challenges.
Flexible and willing to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and on-call duties as required.
Physically fit and capable of performing site inspections and supervising maintenance activities in various environments.
